KOTA KINABALU: DBKK is permitting 50 stalls to operate temporarily on 31 December at Tanjung Lipat.
Kota Kinabalu Mayor, Datuk Abidin Madingkir, said this year DBKK allows for 30 temporary vendor camps to be set up and sell their goods during the permitted time at the plaza near Masjid Bandaraya roundabout, and another 20 for the open space next to the playground at the area.
Registered vendors will require to follow the regulations set by the department, where they have to sell fully prepared food and beverages, using only 10’ x10’ camps, and restriction on operation outside the lots designated by DBKK.
They are also not allowed to set up stalls at the park, lanes for pedestrian and cyclists, and leaving behind any garbage or equipments at the location.
He stressed that those who open stalls outside the designated area will be deemed as illegal vendor and stern action will be taken against them by DBKK, including to seizure of goods and a compound will be issued to offenders..
Interested vendors can get the temporary vendor license by registering at the Market and Vendor Management Division of the Department of Health and Urban Service, DBKK, level 7, Centrepoint, before this 31 December 2015 (Thursday). -SayangSabah
