KOTA KINABALU: The crisis in Pakatan rakyat coalition is expected due to different ideologies of Pas, PKR, and DAP.
Sabah UMNO Liaison Deputy Chairman, Datuk Salleh Said, said he is not surprised with the current squabbling in Pakatan Rakyat which led to DAP cutting its ties with Pas.
“From the beginning the parties in Pakatan do not have common ideology and it eventually lead to the current in-fighting and I am not surprised if PKR will also leave DAP.
“They are fighting for positions and not to serve the public and I hope Sabah people will evaluate their (Pakatan) true aims; they have no intention to develop Sabah. They have their own personal interests,” he said.
Salleh was commenting on Sabah Pakatan Rakyat (PR) decision to severe ties with Pas Sabah due to the party’s decision to implement hudud.
Salleh, who is also Usukan State Assemblyman (ADUN), explains that whether PR will be back on track is a non-issue for Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) as the majority of people is supporting the BN government as it has been proven by previous elections.
“Because we are sincere in serving the people; PKR and DAP, in the other hand, they always switch sides, sometimes PKR will be with DAP, and then they will switch to Pas… this attitude will not guarantee the future of Malaysia and its people,” he added.
When asked about DAP proposal to set up a new “Unity Government’, Salleh said the party is only daydreaming and its real intent is to cause disunity among Sabah leaders.
“The matter should not arise in Sabah, BN in the state is united under the leadership of the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Musa Aman, and our duty is to preserve the political stability in the state and push forward for development agenda,” he said. – SayangSabah
