KOTA KINABALU: The corporate sector in Sabah has been urged to include the empowerment of schools in their corporate social responsibility (CSR), such as providing infrastructure and facilities.
State Community Development and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Jainab Ahmad Ayid said in this way, the sector could help to advance education and human capital development in the state.
“Their contribution would benefit students particularly those who are not so privileged. Opening a tuition centre to spur human capital development can be one of their CSR programmes.
“In this regard, we do have experts including former teachers willing to help out,” she told reporters after launching the ‘Program Generasi Gemilang’ organised by Rural Capital Sdn Bhd with the cooperation of Yayasan Pelajaran Mara here today.- BERNAMA
