Continuous operation to monitor road safety

KOTA KINABALU: Nineteen Pol 257 and twenty 170A summonses were issued for various road offenses during the Samseng Jalanan Operation at Jalan Coastal, Imago, Jalan Kepayan, Jalan Sulaman, and Jalan Lintas-Luyang, from 11.00pm yesterday until this morning.

The operation carried out by one officer and 14 personnel also seized nine motorcycles for fractions under Section 42 and Section 60 of the Road Transportation Act 1987.

A 21-year-old man was also arrested under Section 42 of the same act.

District Police Chief, ACP M. Chandra, said 20 vehicles and 26 individuals were inspected throughout the operation.

“Despite traffic offenders in Kota Kinabalu are quite active, it (situation) is still under control and require continuous monitoring for prevention,” he said.

During the operation M-CAD was also used to access PDRM Summon System and inspect driving license, road tax, and vehicles via JPJ System. -SayangSabah
