Company manager fined for writing obscene words on summons paper

KOTA KINABALU: A company manager was fined with RM3,200 or one week jail in default by the Magistrate Court, yesterday, for the charge of writing indecent words ‘p*k*m*k’ on a summons paper issued by a police officer.

The accused, Jeffery Kee Shung, 33, admitted guilty before Magistrate Jessica Ombou Kakayun for insulting traffic police personnel with obscene and insulting word written on the summons paper, in front of a hotel at Jalan Tun Fuad Stephen, here, at 10.40am, in 8 October last year.

He was charged under Section 509 of the Penal Code which carries the punishment of up to five years jail, a fine, or both.

In mitigation, Jeffery represented by his lawyer, Hamid Ismail, pleaded for a lighter fine.
