TAWAU: A manager for Sukau Private Transportation Company died in an accident at Kilometer 56 Jalan Tawau-Kunak, yesterday.
In the 2.45pm accident, the victim aged 39 years old who was driving his Kawasaki motorcycle clashed with a Myvi from Kunak to Tawau direction, and died at the scene due to internal injuries on the head and body, while the Myvi driver has been sent to Hospital Kunak to receive stitches for his wounds on the head, right cheek, and lips.
District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Awang Besar Dullah, said the two vehicles clashed when the Myvi drive from Kunak to Tawau direction tried to cut another vehicle by entering the right lane, causing it to clashed with the motorcycle which was coming from Tawau to Sukau direction.
“The motorcycle was dragged and fell into the drain at the right sideway, with the Myvi fell into a drain at the left sideway of the road to Tawau direction.
“The Myvi front tire fell off with its right segment was badly damaged, and the motorcycle lose its front tire and its front segment crushed due to the accident,” he told reporters at Tawau District Police Heaquarters (IPD), here today.
Awang Besar said the case is investigated under Section 41 (1) Road Transportation Act 1957 and calls for any witness to come forward to give information regarding on the accident. – SayangSabah
