KOTA KINABALU: Communities in Sabah are a huge family with strong unity despite their diversity in cultures.
Sabah Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman, said while there are many communities in the state with different religions, various festivals are celebrated together in harmony.
“We are blessed that while we comes from different faiths and cultures, we celebrate together all festivals and disregard our differences,” he said during the Ang Pow Festival for the Chinese New Year celebration held by Federation of Chinese Associations of Sabah at Dewan Hakka.
He said the state government is also committed in developing Chinese schools, cultural centres, and houses of worship in the state.
“The government will continue to support and give financial allocation for Chinese schools and houses of worship in Sabah, and at the same time improve the quality of live and preserve the harmony of the people,” he said.
Musa also presented RM100,000 contribution to the Federation of Chinese Associations of Sabah during the event.
Vocal and dance performance, as well as a lucky draw event were also held to entertain the one-thousand strong visitors during the celebration. –SayangSabah
