KOTA KINABALU: Experience reflects the differences between two people representative assemblymen in debating certain issues and it is proven by Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Raymond Tan Shu Kiah, when asked about his critic, Likas State Assemblyman (ADUN) Junz Wong, recently.
Raymond simply explained that it is not the time to find issues for argument, especially during Chinese New Year.
“In this festive season, I prefer to talk about unity and harmony even with DAP; I want to show them the meaning of harmony.
“It is not the time for squabble, instead it is for us to respect each other and in harmony,” he told reporters after attending the Gerakan Chinese New Year celebration, which was also honored with the presence of the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Musa Aman, here today.
Raymond opined as a response for Junz who were criticizing him by accusing his Ministry of Industrial Development is incompetent in handling investment and industries in Sabah.
According to Raymond, what the DAP assemblyman stated need to be ignored and should not become a main topic of discussion because the matters can be debated in the State Assembly (DUN).
“The Likas YB, if he wants to debate on any issues regarding policy or government activities, we have a debate session in DUN. He knows that we have a seating for each term and he will face other ministers as well; our job as minister is to give answers.
“All questions asked by YB (Junz) in the newspaper are questions which has been issued to me in the previous DUN assembly. I do not understand why he listed a lot of questions now… I think it is unwise for the media to report all my answers, for it is not the media’s job,” he added. – SayangSabah
