SANDAKAN: The Chinese New Year (CNY) open house is the best platform for Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders to mingle with the people and get close to them, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman.
The Sabah BN chairman said the holding of the open house was in line with the continuous efforts of the state and federal BN leaders in maintaining good relations with the “rakyat” (people).
“I am happy to see the presence of many people at this Chinese New Year open house, not just from the Chinese community but from the other communities and religions as well.
“This proves that in Malaysia, particularly Sabah, we practise a very high level of racial tolerance,” he said when met by reporters at the CNY open house hosted by the Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Batu Sapi branch, here.
Also present were Sabah Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin, Deputy Chief Minister and PBS president Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan and Batu Sapi Member of Parliament Datuk Linda Tsen Thau Lin.
Musa said that as leaders, their efforts in getting close to the people would continue to be a priority in order to hear their problems and find the best solutions.
The chief minister earlier attended the CNY open house organised by Sandakan BN at Dewan Hakka and also the one hosted by Sabah Dong Zhong president, Tan Sri Andrew Liew at his residence in Taman Sentosa.- BERNAMA
