KOTA KINABALU: The Chartered Institute of Logistic and Transport (CILT) Malaysia had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University College Sabah Foundation (UCSF) to conduct professional qualifying examinations for logistics and transport.
Under the agreement, CILT Malaysia will provide bachelor degree programmes at UCSF which is internationally recognised by the UK royal charter.
UCSF vice chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohamed Ghazali Ismail who signed the agreement with CILT Malaysia president Dato’ Abdul Radzak Malik at UCSF campus in Sembulan said there is a growing demand for qualified personal in logistics and transports especially in the oil and gas industry.
The land, sea and air transportation industry is a critical sector in line with the National Logistic Taskforce established by the Ministry of Transport to boost the volume of trade both nationally and locally, he said.
“In order to assist the industry to fulfil the qualification needs, UCSF hopes through this collaboration it will open up new opportunities, exciting career and promising professional pathways to the youths and existing workforce in Sabah,” said Dr Ghazali.-Sayangsabah
