JOHOR BAHARU: A Singaporean former celebrity chef pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court, here, today to two charges of committing unnatural sex and criminal intimidation recently.
Muhammad Mustaqim Juri, 38, was charged with voluntarily committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature, on the 22-year-old victim at a parking lot in Jalan Persiaran Tanjung, Tampoi, on Dec 10.
He was also charged with criminal intimidation against the victim’s mother, aged 47, at the victim’s house in Taman Cempaka, Tampoi, on the same day.
The first charge under Section 377C of the Penal Code carries a jail term of between five and 20 years, and whipping.
The second charge under Section 506 provides for a sentence of up to two years’ jail or a fine, or both.
Judge Meor Sulaiman Ahmad Tarmizi allowed the accused bail of RM40,000 in one surety and set Jan 17 for case re-mention.
DPP Syeela Marlina Uttaman appeared for the prosecution, while the accused was represented by counsel Mohd Asram Zakaria.- BERNAMA
