KOTA KINABALU – Institut Aminuddin Baki Cawangan Sabah (IABCS) has received five million funds from Education Development Department, Ministry of Education (MOE) to build their new Cabin Office Project (COP) in Menggatal.
COP provides training for principals and headteachers that participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) course and National Professional Qualification for Educational Leaders (NPQEL) course that organised for years by IABCS said Deputy Director (Professional) of IAB, Mazlan Samsudin.
He said the COP apply fast-track mode and expected to complete within five months duration and will be available in September, this year.
He said the building is designed with 21st Century layout concept with green environmental perspective.
“There will be six training rooms, one meeting room with one resource centre as well as three lecturers’ rooms with open-space concept. Not only that, there will also be an administration office and three multi-purpose rooms,” he said, adding that the fast-track project is constructed to be the interim office of IABCS.
Deputy Minister of Education I, Datuk Mary Yap Kain Ching said her team will consistently follow-up COP project progress until it is done.
“It is crucial for us to get actively involved in this project evolvement since we want to prepare the best venue and accommodation for all teachers that will be doing their training here,” she said.
IABCS looks forward to applying for budget from Malaysia Plan 11 (RMKe-11) to go towards commencement of the establishment COP building with a multi-storey training complex with full facilities in future said Branch Director of IABCS, Lew Yeok Leng.- By Saila Saidie/sayangsabah.
