TAWAU: The government is committed in improving the position and participation of Bumiputera in the nation’s economy development.
Sabah Deputy Minister of Resource Development and IT Technology, Datuk Hamisa Samat, said the youth in the district should give their best and patient in introducing more comprehensive programmes to encourage the young generation to take part in business.
She said the effort to produce more entrepreneurs among the Bumiputera will succeed with the involvement of existing entrepreneurs who have succeeded in their business.
She explained that the experience and guidance from successful entrepreneurs are significant as a reference source for newcomers.
“I believe that these seasoned entrepreneurs have long overcome the obstacles in making their business prosper.
“Their involvement will help in the context of sharing their experience when they first started their business and become a successful entrepreneurs,” she said.
She was speaking during the launching of the TawauMobile WwoowW Mobile Phone at Yayasan Lau Gek Poh, today.
The Tanjong Batu Assemblyperson also said the challenges in producing more entrepreneurs in Malaysia are becoming more difficult due to the current global economy crisis.
She said the government is to focus both on the initiatives to encourage new entrepreneurs and mould them to be more competitive in order for them to be able to survive the slow economic situation.
Despite the challenges, she assures that the government will remain committed to develop more dynamic and competitive Bumiputera entrepreneurs.
She also advises them to instil positive and dynamic attitudes in their business, as well as pursuing new knowledge in various management aspects.
