PENAMPANG:The Borneo Mud Challenge (BMC) which will be making its first appearance on Sept 27.
Featuring a 10-kilometer race with 25 medium-to-high level obstacle courses, the Borneo Mud Challenge (BMC) will be the first obstacle challenge race of its kind to take place in the country. Taking its cue from the very popular Viper Challenge in Sepang, BMC will present a shorter course but tougher obstacles for the participants. The obstacles for this challenge will be designed by the Military Commando and the Green Berets.
Unlike the Viper Challenge, which does not imply a cut-off time and is not considered a race, BMC will adhere to a cut off time of four hours. There will also be rewards for first, second and third fastest winners for the men and women open, as well as the group categories. RM15,000 worth of cash prizes await the winners of the Borneo Mud Challenge!
This challenge will be open to only 1000 individuals and will be divided into three categories namely, men open, women open and groups of four and six people (mix gender). Registration is currently open online. For walk in registrations, a registration counter will be tentatively open in May. Individual registration starts at RM80 and group registration starts at RM300.
The race will take place in Penampang, with its starting and finishing line at the Penampang Sports Complex. The exact route of the challenge as well as the obstacle course will only be released a month prior to the event. In addition to the Borneo Mud Challenge, the organizer will also be organizing an after party, featuring local entertainers and refreshments for the participants.
