KENINGAU: The public should be aware of the importance of blood donations.
Keningau District Police Chief, DSP Douglas Nyeging Taong, said the community should be ready and willing to donate blood regardless of their beliefs and background.
Blood supply is important for hospital especially during treatment where patients required blood transfusion, he said.
“Without this awareness, hospitals will have a difficult time since blood supplies for their needs and Thalassemia patients,” he said to the media after launching the blood donation campaign held by Keningau Hospital Blood Transfusion Medical Unit, Keningau District Office, Sabah Interior Blood Donors Association, and Liawan N.34 UPPm at Dewan Arked.
Douglas who represented the Liawan Assemblyperson, Datuk Haji Sairin Haji Karno, who is also the state Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, said donating blood is not only helping and saving the lives of patients, but also good for donors’ health. -SayangSabah
