KOTA KINABALU: Extremists that threatened the sovereignty of the nation will be dealt with severely.

This includes those who hold activities that are detrimental to unity, harmony and peace among the community, Rural Development Minister Datuk Radin Malleh said.

According to him, such negative activities can impede the Government efforts in the implementations of any development programmes.

“Unity and harmony among people from various race and ethnicity has existed for decades so any acts to oppose this norm should be repudiated,” he said.

Speaking during the launch of the Chinese New Year celebration in Tenom, Radin who is Melalap State Assemblyman said the support of the Chinese Community in this region is invaluable to the government especially in the socio economic fields.
