KENINGAU: Muslim communities need to be firm in their al-Quran and as-sunnah teachings as not easily deceived from the true teachings of Islam.

Pensiangan Division UMNO Chief, Datuk Abdul Ghani Datuk Yassin, said the revelations in al-Quran teachings must be practice daily especially by the Muslim communities today.

He said that the Muslim communities are not only threatened by declining morality, but also by western cultures which are absorbed by the young generation.

“Several individuals has been arrested for being influenced by IS ideology, they are racing to fight for IS in several Middle East countries, even though IS is not based on Islam (teaching),” he said in his speech for officiating  Sook Sub-division al-Quran Recitation ceremony at Dewan Tan Sri Joseph Kurup, here yesterday.

According to him, they (IS) believe that their fights are jihad and syahid; not realizing that their fight is the opposite of Islamic teachings.

He added that al-Quran recitation programme is the best forum for educating the communities and their children, as well as to cultivate love for al-Quran teachings.

Abdul Ghani also said that some Muslim individuals have neglected the teachings of Islam based on al-Quran, and no longer care to make Islamic values as their guide. – SayangSabah
