Be enterprising youth urged

KINABATANGAN: Youth here will be accorded RM50,000 to go to income generating activities.

The funds announced by the  Minister of Youth and Sports Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan will go towards youth who wished to embark on business enterprises of their choice.

During the event he urged youth in this area to be enterprising and creative in their venture in the industry.

” Do not be shy or embarrassed when embarking on business because by being so you will not go far,” he said.

“You must persevere and be tenacious in your business.  Learn business management so you can succeed.”

On another note, Tawfiq said activites carried out by youth today is of impact to the future.

He said such activities towards betterment including tree planting among youth are commendable.

He said being leaders of the future they are bound to their heritage and with positive attitudes they could only move forward.

On development of youth in this area he said he will look into sports facilities, including an arena for activities.

“I will make sure that this infrastructure and youth needs in this area are met,” he said.

According to him, youth activities are usually announced online which made it easy for internet savvy individuals to sign in.

However those in the rural area with limited access may find it difficult.

“My officers are however ever willing to help them so they can come to our office for advise,” Tawfiq said.

He said this during the closing ceremony of Love Nature/Community/Youth Discussion and presentation of grant to the Youth Association Kinabatangan today.-Sayangsabah.
