SANDAKAN: Poverty Eradication Programme (1Azam) participants need to be committed to improve themselves and achieve goals set by the government.
Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said this is neccessary as 1Azam and similar programmes were designed to improve their standard of living.
“The aim of 1Azam is to open up opportunities so that the low income group can be listed on the e-Kasih programme to provide them with sources of income.
“Use this opportunity to improve your standard of living and leave poverty behind,” he told reporters after launching the ‘Tautan Kasih 1Azam’ programme of Sandakan district, here today.
Musa said a dilligent and persistent attitude, coupled with support in the form of government facilities, would bear positive results over the long-term.
He urged government agencies entrusted to implement 1Azam to ensure that it reaches the target group and objective to generate income for the participants.-BERNAMA
