SEMPORNA: The key for continuing the development progress in the country is held by the young generation, who will helm the nation’s leadership in the future.

Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development, Datuk Razak Sakaran, said the failure to mould the young generation into a resourceful and moral character, as well as investing in their education, will affect the vision of making Malaysia a developed and progressive country.

“The youths need to be equipped with all the knowledge and moral character to qualify them as a quality human resource if they are to lead the country,” he said in his speech for the closing ceremony of Semporna Volunteerism and Grassroot Community Campaign, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports at Arung Hayat Resort in Mabul Island, here yesterday.

Razak also calls for the youths not to be easily swayed by technology development which will make them neglect their responsibilities to their family, community, and countr.

He also reminds the young generation to be responsible and rational when surfing the social media and not easily deceived by IS movement which uses Facebook as a platform to influence them to join their baseless acts of terrorism. – SayangSabah
