Appreciate Veteran soldiers sacrifices: Tawfiq

TAWAU: Soldiers’ sacrifices are invaluable and cannot be measured with money or medals.

The state Minister of Youth and Sports, Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan, said their contributions and sacrifice for the nation’s peace and sovereignty must be remembered.

“Their deeds and sacrifice for the country, willing to leave their families for the sake of our beloved country are invaluable,” he said in his speech for Pingat Jasa Malaysia presentation ceremony at Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) Hall KD Sri Tawau, here today.

Also present at the ceremony is Sabah Assistant Minister of Resource Development and Information Technology, Datuk Hamisa Samat.

About 20 veterans from the district received the Pingat Jasa Malaysia medal, and Veteran Soldiers Assocation donated house key donation to two of the veterans, and cane contribution for the two elderly veterans at the ceremony.

Tawfiq also contribute a donation of RM6.000 which he gives annually to the district Veteran Soldiers Association to fund their activities. – SayangSabah
