KOTA KINABALU – The 2015 4×4 Jamboree is schedule this March 14 to 16 at one of the scenic view campsite – Kampung Togop in Ranau.
The annual event organised by the Sabah Four Wheel Drive Association (SFWDA) is expected to bring 100 4×4 vehicle owners for an adventurous trip away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The SFWDA President Faez Nordin in a statement said that the organising committee has decided to open the event for non-member.
“The public can join this camping event with an admission fee of RM50 per pax,” he said adding that an exclusive 2015 4×4 Jamboree tee shirts will be given to participants.
Faez said that SFWDA members and the public need to register early to ensure the event runs smoothly on the day of flag-off at the Ranau Town near the KFC outlet at 9 am.
The highlights of the event are the Amateur (Novice) 4×4 Challenge, lucky draw and children games.
For the 4×4 challenge, only amateurs or novices are allowed to compete in an open category. The registration is limited.
The SFWDA members will also be carrying out charitable projects during the camping trip where they will assist the villagers in Kampung Togob to repair the broken 120 metres suspension bridge across the Togop River.
The suspension bridge is used by the villagers especially school children to get to their schools.
