KOTA KINABALU: Some 39,862 candidates are taking the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination in 322 centres across Sabah beginning today.
Sabah Education Department Director, Datuk Jame Alip, said the number of SPM candidates this year has increased by 337 compared to last year, and 10 new examination centres have been set up to accommodate the increase.
“32,274 candidates are from government schools, government-assisted schools, and religious schools, with 5,321 are private candidates, 1,411 from private schools, 630 from schools operated by government agencies, and 226 from state religious schools,” he said when met during his visit at SMK Likas.
Jame also stressed that the Standard Operating Procedue (SOP) must be adhered strictly throughout the examination period.
Candidates will be sitting for the exam nationwide beginning from 2 November to 8 December. –SayangSabah
