KOTA KINABALU: AlmaCrest Student Backpackers Club (ASBC) is established at AlmaCrest International College as a platform for its student to be exposed on the tourism sector.

The club is an initiative to educate the college’s students who are about to undergoe their practical trainings with Sabah Backpackers Operators Association (SBA).

Sabah Tourism Board Director, Datuk Jonistron Bangkuai, said the club is a good approach and set the best example to other institutes for promoting tourism industry in the state.

“Travelling with a backpack is one way to save budget when visiting other places, and Sabah with its various interesting places should be listed as one of the destinations to be visited,” he said.

More than 50 students and lecturers of AlmaCrest and backpackers joined the club launching at Akinabalu Youth Hostel & Traveler’s Light Lodge. -SayangSabah
