KUANTAN: A Felda Technoplant Sdn Bhd (FTSB) former Plantation Unit head and his then deputy were acquitted by the Sessions Court here today of conspiring to deceive the company with two false work order claims, two years ago.
Mod Ehsa Mohd Samsi, 57, and Mohamad Iqbal Sabtu, 33, who is now Felda Sungai Koyan, Raub manager were charged with the offence involving two claims for RM3,500 dated March 22, 2011 and March 31, 2012, relating to clearing works at Jengka 19.
Judge Datuk Habibah Mohamed Yusof ruled that the defence had succeeded in casting a reasonable doubt in the prosecution’s case. Four defence witnesses and 17 prosecution witnesses testified during the trial.
Deputy public prosecutor Amir Hamzah Idris from the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission represented the prosecution.
Mohamad Iqbal who was defended by counsel Mohd Hisham Abdul Rahim and Nor Adilah Zarian Mohamad, and Mod Ehsa who was defended by Datuk Syed Azimal Amir Syed Abu Bakar were seen shaking hands and embracing family members in the public gallery after the verdict.
