KUALA LUMPUR: A minute’s silence was held at the Malaysian Embassy in Paris on Monday to honour the victims of last Friday’s terror attacks.
The ceremony held at noon local time (7 pm Malaysian time) was attended by all officers and staff of the embassy and Malaysian agencies in Paris, said news from the mission uploaded at the Wisma Putra official page www.kln.gov.my today.
“The French flag was folded as a mark of respect for the victims,” it added. The French government has declared a three-day national mourning from Sunday till Tuesday following the attacks in which more than 100 people were killed and more than 200 injured, in a well-coordinated attacks by seven gunmen on restaurants, concert hall and a sports stadium in Paris.
Following the massacre, which was said to be the worst and most horrific terrorist attacks in the country’s history, the French President Francois Hollande announced a state of emergency immediately. – BERNAMA
