BALIK PULAU: The body of an unidentified man was found trapped among large rocks at the site of a waterfall in Bukit Titi Kerawang, Sungai Pinang here yesterday.
A Nepalese plumber who was installing pipes in the vicinity about 3.30pm, stumbled on the body.
Southwest District police chief Supt Lai Fah Hin said there was no identification document on the body.
He said a team of 50 personnel comprising the police, fire and rescue department and Civil Defence Department retrieved the body about 3am today.
“Trapped among rocks, the body was found afloat. The victim was believed to have been dead for between three and four days,” he told reporters here today.
Lai said the road to reach the area where the body was found was only passable by motorcyle for half the journey before the team had to cross two hills to arrive at the location.
He said the body was sent to the Balik Pulau Hospital. Those with missing relatives or friends are requested to call the nearest police station to facilitate investigations.- BERNAMA
