KOTA KINABALU- The City Hall will continue to implement its 5K strategies in order to realise its vision in making Kota Kinabalu a nature resort with friendly, prosperous and sustainable development by 2020.
Mayor Datuk Abidin Madingkir said the City Hall would continue to work in implementing the five strategies mainly cleanliness (Kebersihan), beautification (Keindahan), safety (Keselamatan), orderliness (Keteraturan) and Peacefulness (Kesejahteraan).
He said the City Hall had received three stars rating system of local authorities carried out all over Malaysia, while its Hygiene and Environmental Health was recognised through certification of 5S by Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) on March last year.
In World Town Planning Day on the national level 2014, pedestrian path and bicycle lane of Likas bay was placed third place green neighborhood initiatives performance by Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government.
Apart from that, 24 closed-circuit television (CCTV) were set up at strategic places in suburban and city center.
On another note, he stated that licensing division KK City Hall had removed 5552 of loan shark advertisements.
Meanwhile. 601 illegal immigrants were detained in 18 operations while daily operation, saw five of homeless drifters, two adults beggars and 17 children beggars detained and sent to detention shelters and welfare homes in Papar.
