KOTA KINABALU: Sabah need to promote its tourism market relentless in order to stay competitive.
The Get Easy Travel (GET) founder Nancy Koh, speaking about her experience in the tourism industry said: “Promotion must be ongoing and once we stop the people will not be aware of us because other places also doing promotion.”
And to prove her point, Nancy said the arrival of tourists particularly to Sandakan shoot-up after she promoted Sabah in Hong Kong through organising a one-week Sabah Food Fest in 2013.
“The food festival was a huge success because we brought along the chefs from Sabah to cook our local dishes in Hong Kong. Not only that, we also brought over our fresh seafood to Hong Kong,” Nancy shares.
She said the event received wide coverage from 38 media outlets including bloggers in Hong Kong.-Sayangsabah
