MANILA: Executive chef Cyrille Soenen of Resorts World Manila’s (RWM) Impressions fine dining French restaurant was recently recognised and honoured by the Maîtres Cuisiniers de France—the most envied and exclusive title that chefs around the world aspire to.
Maîtres Cuisiniers de France, or Master Chefs of France, are often given the highest classification in restaurant guides, and are regularly mentioned in the world’s leading food and travel magazines. Many leading chefs, the “Meilleurs Ouvriers de France” and the winners of culinary competitions belong to the Association.
“On behalf of Resorts World Manila, I would like to congratulate chef Cyrille on this outstanding award,” said RWM Chief Hotel Operations Officer Scott Sibley.
“This is a big deal and chef Cyrille is the real deal, a Master Chef of France, and we are all truly proud tohave him in the RWM team.”
The Maîtres Cuisiniers de France’s motto is “to preserve and spread the French culinary arts, encourage training in cuisine, and assist professional development.” Public authorities have recognized the important work carried out by this organization and have granted them honorary awards, including the “Ordre National de la Légion d’Honneur”, the “Ordre National du Mérite Agricole” and the “Ordre National du Mérite”.
“All French chefs know about the Maîtres Cuisiniers de France. It’s a well-recognized group in France,” said Soenen. “I also feel happy because the Philippines will now be included in the Maîtres Cuisiniers de France. It’s not just about me, it’s for everyone. It’s good for the staff, it’s good for Resorts World Manila, and good for the diners because with this title I cannot settle for mediocrity.”-Sayangsabah
