KOTA KINABALU: Some 15,791 pirate DVDs with the worth of RM126,328 were destroyed at the case item storage facility of theSabah Police Contingent Headquarters.
District Police Vice Chief, Deputy Superintendant Yong Thian Foh, said all the DVDs including 180 pornographic DVDs are items seized between 2008 to 2015.
“With the seized items, we successfully arrested and charged 12 suspects including four women aged between 15 to 40 years old,” he said.
Also present was the representative of Kota Kinabalu Magistrate, Rita Kunsoi.
He also said all the case are investigated under Section 5(1)(a) and Section 18(4)(a) of the Film Censorship Act 2002.
The pirate DVDS were mostly confiscated from shopping malls around the city area. –SayangSabah
