KOTA KINABALU: Deputy Chief Minister, Christina Liew will discuss with the Malaysia Airports Berhad (MAB) to lower the buskers music volume and limiting playing time at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA).
Liew who is also Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister on Sunday said she had been receiving complaints that the band outside the KKIA arrival halls was playing too loud.
“It causes inconvenience to the passengers who can’t even talk in their smart handphone due to the high volume blasting by the band.
“While we appreciate local talents but I believe the volume should be under control to to a reasonable level.
“It is causing a lot of nuisance to both the air passengers and people who receive them at the KKIA. I appeal to MAB to look into this matter immediately,” she said in a message in her whatsapp group.
Liew also provided a video clip of a band that was playing a cover of Hong Kong’s Beyond outside the arrival halls.
According to her, there must be a balanced hours allowing the bands to perform.
“(There should be) some kind of regulations in place so that their music will not become a nuisance to the people,” she said.-SabahNewsToday
