KOTA KINABALU: The State investiture ceremony tomorrow will see almost all cabinet ministers from Sabah in the new State and Federal governments being conferred the Panglima Gemilang Darjah Kinabalu (PGDK) award that carries the title Datuk in conjunction with the Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin 65th birthday.
On that note, heading the State Awards list of 1,146 recipients was Chief Justice for Sabah and Sarawak, Datuk David Wong Dak Wah who was among two people being conferred Seri Panglima Darjah Kinabalu (SPDK), the state’s highest award, which carries the title of “Datuk Seri Panglima.”
The other SPDK conferment was State Secretary Datuk Hashim Paijan.
Meanwhile, heading the list of 65 PGDK recipients were Federal Minister of Trade and Industry, Darell Leiking, followed by the two Deputy Chief Ministers of Sabah, Dato Jaujan Sambakong and Christina Liew, Federal Tourism, Cultural and Arts Minister, Datuk Mohamaddin Ketapi, Infrastructure Development Minister, Datuk Peter Anthony, Health and People’s Wellbeing Minister, Stephen Wong, Agriculture and Food Industry Minister, Junz Wong, Rural Development Minister, Ewon Benedick, Youth and Sports Minister, Frankie Poon, Deputy Home Minister, Dato Mohd Azis Jamman, Law and Native Affairs Assistant Minister, Uda Sulai and Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, Jimmy Wong.
Among the other PGDK recipients were Sabah Police Chief, Dato Omar Mammah, State Attorney-General, Zaleha Rose Datuk Haji Pandin, Yayasan Sabah new director, Jamalul Kiram Datuk Zakaria, State Industry and Trade Ministry permanent secretary, Madiyem Layapan, his counterpart in the State Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry, Datu Rosmadi Datu Sulai as well as Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd Managing Director, Abd Razak Sallim.
There were 12 recipients of the Justice of Peace award this year namely Abdul Razak Jamil, Azreena Aziz @ Abdul Aziz, Batholomew Jingulam, Elsie Primus, Fredie Sua @ Freddy Gerald Suah, Hassan Basri Aplasin, Jakariya Ab Jalil, Koh Siew Eng (Keith), Mathew Willie, Mustapha @ Mohd Yunus Sakmud, Sazalye Donol Abdullah and William Michael Mojilip.
For the Ahli Setia Darjah Kinabalu (ASDK) award, there were 119 recipients of which 25 were deputy ministers, assistant ministers, MPs and state assemblymen.
There were 252 recipients for the Ahli Darjah Kinabalu, 234 Bintang Setia Kinabalu (BSK), 333 Bintang Kinabalu (BK) and 141 Certificate of Honour (CH).
