KOTA KINABALU: United Malaysia, the country’s official Manchester United fan club, held its third Family Day at the Tanjung Aru Second Beach here today.
About 200 members including their family and friends attended the annual event that saw a host of fun-filled activities that involved both young and old starting from 12 noon.
Organising chairperson Anita Dingkawan said the event was one of United Malaysia’s many yearly programmes aimed at fostering camaraderie and also to show appreciation to its hardworking members.
Its president Batholomew Jingulam was happy with the turnout, saying the gathering was always a much-anticipated event in the club’s calendar.
“Our members worked so hard to make our third annual dinner last June a massive success which saw more than 1,200 members attending.
“So this is just a time for us to let our hair down and have fun with our family and friends – the United way,” he said.
There were also lucky draw sessions for the attendees, with most of the items being authentic merchandise from Man Utd’s Old Trafford including those signed by former and present players.
Besides the annual dinner and family day, United Malaysia also organised other community programmes such as charity and sporting events, among others.-SabahNewsToday
